The Law Society of Hong Kong published the Information Package for the OLQE 2020 examination on February 3, 2020 – see

Candidates applying to sit/or be exempt from sitting the exam must complete Form A – see Section G of the InfoPack.

New applicants must submit their Form A to the Law Society of Hong Kong no later than Monday March 16, 2020.

Applicants to resit any Head of the 2019 OLQE must submit their Form A no later than Wednesday April 29, 2020.

Note the new paragraph 23 of Form A:

”Applicants are required to provide details of all professional practice and experience undertaken and employment (full time or part time) both in Hong Kong and overseas for the past 10 years, regardless of whether they wish to rely on those experience in the application.”

All documents in support of Form A to sit the OLQE 2020 and in support of applications for exemption must be submitted no later April 29, 2020, except for those specifically requested by the Law Society or those which the applicant can prove he or she applied for before April 29, 2020.

Applicants who fail to submit the documents by April 29, 2020 will not be able to get exemptions, although they may be eligible to sit the 2020 exam, provided they have submitted their Form A in time.
